Painting of a Boy Making a Snow Angel

I heard that my classroom friends across the ocean might get a rare snow this week. I hope you get enough to make a snowman, a snow fort, and some snow angels too.

Dad painted this artwork of me making a snow angel. The painting became one of our Christmas card designs just like some of the other winter artwork pieces I've shared.

If you get enough snow to make snow angels you can also have fun finding ways to invent all new creatures too.

After I make a snow angel I sometimes use my mittens to draw antennae on the head. That turns my angel into a giant Snow Moth!

This is how I make a Snow Bat. I crouch on my knees and swoop my arms back and forth in the snow to make the wings. Sitting on my legs makes the body. Wiggling my seat into the snow makes the bat's head and my feet tucked under me will make the big bat ears.

It doesn't always work perfectly on the first try so I sometimes have to use my mittens to finish the pattern in the snow.

I also like to make Snow Owls, Snow Dragons and Snow Spiders. Once one of my Snow Spiders turned into a Snow Octopus, and one of my Snow Dragons became a Snow Goose. Some days I just like to flop around in the snow to see what new shapes I come up with.

I hope you will get lots of snow this week and will have some fun inventing snow creatures too!
