You have to be big, strong and tough to play hockey so this is my most fierce face to prove that I am all that. While dad is cheering me on, "come on Otter, move those little feet! Skate like the wind!", I'm thinking "hey wait a second, I only just learned to walk on Wednesday and am not sure I've even got the hang of that yet".
That's how it is for boys growing up in Canada. When a boy learns to walk his dad then only has 48 hours to put him in a pair of skates and package him up in bulky equipment. Next the boy will be handed a stick and placed in the middle of some slippery ice "just to see what happens".

And then some of us, without any warning at all, suddenly turn into goalies.
And so that's how it is growing up in Canada.
